Is "Flower Power" back?
Is “Flower Power” back? Today we are going to talk about the Groovival trend.
The reality is that this aesthetic was born in the 60s, at the height of the hippie movement but had its maximum expression in the early 90s, when we began to see a recovery of psychedelic aesthetics, floral prints and vibrant colors.
As nostalgia is the creative engine of fashion and trends, those who in the 90s were adults, began to feel homesick for this era, when young people became the protagonists of social struggle and political protest.
Those in charge of designing and creating consumer products, were these nostalgic people, so the 90’s were invaded by this groovy aesthetic full of color. In our toys, in the series we watched on TV, in our T-shirts, hairstyles, and even in interior design.
Fashion and trends are cyclical, so the Gen Z generation has recovered all this inspiration to make it one of the top trends of this 2024.
If you like this trend I recommend, as always, to look for this type of garments in vintage stores: you will find real jewels that no one else will have, the quality is higher and you will also avoid contributing to the destructive fast fashion.
