Fashion Sleepover

Wednesday, 25 April 2012

This season’s biggest YAY or NAY in fashion must be the Pyjama trend. Here at Mint, we stand united; we love! Fabulous prints and a comfy relief from skinny jeans was enough to have us convinced but admittedly, it all comes down to styling. PJ pants worn with an over sized tee will probably make you look more sloppy than stylish so to avoid confusion, here are our best tips on how too wear these tricky trousers.

The wide leg
PJ trousers and lace top from Mint
You don’t get more sophisticated PJ pants than these. The vertical stripe has a slimming effect whilst the wide leg creates a nice flow when walking. Pair with a pastel lace top and you have nailed 3 trends in one look.

Monochrome
Vintage pyjama trousers and jacket from Mint
This pair is slightly flared so they move beautifully. The large monochrome print speaks for itself so match with block colours and minimal accessories fro a modern look.

The square dot

You cannot go wrong with cute dot prints but make sure the material has a silky finish like these to add a breeze of sophistication. Paired up here with a cutesy Peter Pan collar blouse.

The clashing prints
PJ pants, blouse and belt from Mint Vintage
Both PJ pants and clashing prints are huge trends this season but to pull them both off without looking too overdone can be tricky. Our suggestion is to use the same colours palette on top and bottom and divide them up with a block colour waist belt.

The tapered leg

These beauties are made in the softest of cotton so to dress them up a little we have added a colour pop lace top and chunky heels. Since they are high waisted they would also look great with a bralett crop top showing off that midriff.

The 90’s
Vintage PJ's and crop top
90’s girl group anyone? Camo (which is going to be HUGE for AW12) and leopard print. Add a crop top and take to the stage for a 90’s revival. Ahh, nostalgia!
