5 Questions: Nhuc Tran, China Doll Boutique

We chat to Nhuc Tran, owner of China Doll Boutique to find out the best way to work with bloggers and how to get your products featured in the press.



What factors do you take into consideration when deciding which bloggers to work with?
 I look at the blog as an overall but pay close attention to the bloggers writing style and their outfit posts - beautiful pictures also help sway the decision.

How do you get bloggers to wear your products?
We work with bloggers in lots of different ways, sometimes we sponsor a competition or outfit post, other times we give them a special discount...it's always up to the blogger if they want to feature our product on their blog - it always makes us happy when they do!


How did you go about getting your products featured in press?
We actually work with an amazing PR company called Kitch and Honey, but in the past when we did it in-house it involved a lot of time on the phone finding out what the call-ins were and then sending out images and samples.  We also have to make sure we have the right 'on-trend' products, and to make sure we have high res invisible mannequin images.

What type of promotion do you feel works best for your brand and why?
I think it's important to have a mix, the bloggers bring in a different audience to the main line press but as we are still a small brand any type of promotion we receive is important.

What has been your press highlight thus far?
Being featured in the December issue of Vogue resulted in a lot of squealing!  I was also photographed and profiled in Look and More magazine this year which was exciting - my mum went and bought a LOT of copies of these!
