6% To Charity
Why and where we donate
We want to affect causes that are the most important to us: children, animals and nature. We want to give opportunities to those who are less fortunate and who cannot change the surroundings around them.
We want to do something meaningful with our lives, but we haven’t done enough yet and now is our time to change that. This was where the idea to implement a donating aspect to our clothing brand came from. To do our part. It is who we are and why we are doing this, to help and inspire. We are donating 6% of the profit from every product sold to selected charity organisations that dedicate their work to helping children, animals and nature.
6% from what, how does the donation actually work?
Unfortunately, we cannot tell you which organizations we are donating to because of marketing blocking. However, we are able to tell you whenever we have made a donation and we announce it on our social media channels. Our latest donation was made to Save The Children and WWF. We make our donation every four months.
From every sold product, we donate 6% of the profit to the charity. The profit is calculated before our own business profits, salaries or any other costs like marketing fees. We take away the production cost and taxes from the retail price, then calculate the 6%. This means we always donate the same amount from every purchase.
This means that the calculation would go like the following example:
If we sell a product for 40€ and it costs 15€ to produce it and the taxes are 24% (Finnish VAT). [40 - ((0,24 x 40) / 1,24) - 15] x 0,06. The result is ~1,0358€. So if we sell a product for 40€, we will donate 1,036€ to charity from every purchase! The production cost can change between different products, but the calculation formula is always the same.
Why helping children matters to us
Children are the future and we want to see that future be bright. Children are more sensitive to changes because they haven’t yet got stuck in old habits and behaviour. Our work is for the long run, change isn’t immediate. We all have to work for it, but we believe that in the end, helping others is going to be the new norm.
Every child has the right to education, protection from violence, exploitation and abuse, and to prosper in life. By donating to orphans, it gives them the love they need to grow. By donating to children’s education, they don’t fall victim to social exclusion and have the means to live the life they choose. By donating to children in crisis areas, provides food and shelter. By donating to youth who have been left out of society, been bullied and threatened by others or have a difficult time to adapt to life. By donating to families who don’t have the means to support their kids’ hobbies. All these examples are important and it doesn’t end there.
Our selected charity seeks to ensure that children’s needs are given top priority in all crises and fight for children’s rights in order to immediately and permanently improve children’s lives all over the world.
Why is helping nature and animals important to us
Nature and its animal’s well being are vital for our Earth’s future. We need to stop destroying our beautiful nature with bad choices. We need to support species that are suffering from our decisions. Nature and animals need our help. This is why we felt the need to start to act.
The right decisions create progress. Progress creates hope. This thinking motivates us to start making the right decisions when donating to nature and animals. It is not enough for us to make sustainable decisions, we felt the need to do more. This is why we are donating.
There is still time to stop the degradation of our planet’s natural environment and to build a future where humans live in harmony with nature. Our selected charity organizations fight to stop the climate crisis and extinction of animals. They have strong environmental policies on sustainable development, nature conservation, climate and energy, marine protection, sustainable finance and external action.
