PASS THE SALT LDN
The Festival Collection
45 years ago, in New York State, Woodstock set the trend for festival fashion. It was the beginning of a new era and laid back attitude, and attracted a crowd of 400,000. Here at Pass The Salt we like to think the 1960’s spirit lives on and so does the fashion.
The Grunge Trend
Grunge fashion is believed to have originated in the United States in the early 1980′s and emerged when alternative rock music was made popular by bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. This style was quickly picked up by designers and was turned into the most ‘rebellious’ and well known fashion trend that fills our streets today. The style combines elements of punk mixed with second hand clothing – think plaid shirts, Dr Marten boots & baggy jeans! One of the most recognisable elements of grunge fashion has to be the plaid / checked shirt – which is great for us, because we have plenty in store! Usually ‘over sized’ or tied around the waist, this low maintenance look comes with a free and easy attitude. Personally, we think tying a checked shirt around your waist is big! It’s a great style trend because anyone can try it, and if you don’t like it, you just take it off. It brings something to the overall look and instantly makes you look that little bit cooler.
I Spy With My Little Eye
We’ve certainly seen our fair share of weird and wonderful body parts decorating our clothes, but the ‘eye print’ is definitely one to watch. This unique print has been seen on the catwalk from the likes of Kenzo to Vera Wang and has quickly become the hottest trend, adding a touch of quirkiness to any outfit. The print is such a diverse design that the possibilities are endless and can be worn in many different ways. Dress it up, dress it down, it doesn’t really matter. All eyes will be on you – thats a promise!
Baby it's cold outside
Faux fur is still a major trend and will always be popular in Autumn and Winter, so why not invest in a statement piece? It’s affordable, chic, stylish and right for everyday wear, adding a touch of ‘glamour’ to any outfit. Stand out in a faux fur coat or go for a polished look with a faux fur scarf pinned to your favourite leather jacket.
Traditional Indian Shawls
Here are Pass the Salt we are ‘over-the-moon’ to have these traditional Indian shawls in store. They are shaping up to be the ultimate cover up this winter, bringing a touch of ‘boho chic’ to the everyday look. They’re easy to wear, cosy and comfy, making it a must have item for any fashion forward girl.
